Spicy Avocado Dip

I love avocado in its many forms. From salad to guacamole, I have enjoy having this fruit as a side. I have made this particular avocado dip over and over again and experimented with different flavours. I used to use basic hot chilli powder.

However, now I use cayenne pepper and dried chilli flakes (chipotle flakes are also great). This gives it a more smoky, earthy flavour. The herbs used in this dip give it a sweetness that complements the whole dish. Here’s how to make my spicy avocado dip.

Prep: 15 mins

Ingredients

-Avocado

-Lemon juice/1 Fresh lemon

-Parsley

-Coriander

-Chives

-1/2 tsp Dried Chilli Flakes or Chipotle Flakes

-1/2 tsp Cayenne Pepper

-1 Tbsp Olive Oil

-Pinch of salt and pepper (optional)

-Chopped Tomatoes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cut the avocados in half.

  2. Place the avocado halves in a blender.

  3. Add some lemon juice or 1/2 lemon

  4. Add some garlic paste.

  5. Add a sprinkle of coriander, parsley and chives.

  6. Add dried chilli flakes

  7. Add a sprinkle of cayenne pepper

  8. Blend together until smooth (add 2 Tbsp of water if the consistency is still lumpy)

  9. Pour the dip in a bowl and it is ready to serve.
